Afghan Hound
An extraordinary agile hunter, the Afghan is an arrogant yet mischievous companion and a glamorous show dog. The Afghan was unknown to Western civilization until the late 19th century, when members of the British military took several specimens home with them and began to exhibit them at local pet shows.
Afghan Hounds are naturallly eye-catching with their exotic looks, luxuriant coats and aristocratic mien. Their regal bearing nothwithstanding, there beats the heart of irrepressible exuberance and puckish humor with those they know well.
The Afghan Hound requires daily exercise to keep fit and their coat needs to be brushed and washed on at least a weekly basis. They are amazingly adaptable, versatile and have a sense of the ridiculous.
